Alliance for Heart Failure

The Alliance for Heart Failure is a formal umbrella organisation bringing together interested professional, patient and industry members with a mission to raise public and political awareness of heart failure.

The Alliance has two co-chairs, Professor Andrew Clark from the BSH, and Mrs Angela Graves from the Pumping Marvellous Foundation. The Alliance has been successful in persuading the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Heart Disease (led by Mr Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey) to hold an enquiry into living with heart failure. An open call for evidence and four evidence sessions have taken place, and a parliamentary report has now been published.

To ensure that the APPG's recommendations are adopted regionally by Clinical Commissioning Groups, three regions (selected from a shortlist of locations where heart failure services are in greatest need of support) have been chosen to be the focus of an intial campaign: Derbyshire, North East London and Humber Coast & Vale. If you are based in one of these three regions and are interested in lending your support please contact ahf@3nine.co.uk.

All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Heart Disease report: 'Focus on Heart Failure'

We are delighted to announce that the APPG on Heart Disease published its inquiry report 'Focus on Heart Failure' on 13 September 2016. We are extremely grateful to Mr Stuart Andrew, MP, who chaired the APPG, and to the Alliance for Heart Failure, co-chaired by Professor Andrew Clark (on behalf of BSH) and Mrs Angela Graves (on behalf of the Pumping Marvellous Foundation).
