Ben is a Speciality Registrar in Cardiology with a sub-specialist interest in advanced heart failure and transplantation at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. He sits on the Council of the British Junior Cardiology Association (BJCA) and represents the views of cardiology registrars to the BSH Board.

He has interests in clinical trials and medical education, and is actively involved in research activities.
