NICOLE MCKELVIE
Nicole McKelvie is Chair and Co-founder of Heart Failure Warriors NI, a patient- and carer-led organisation in Northern Ireland supporting people with heart failure and other cardiac conditions. She also serves as Chair of the Heart Failure Network for Global Heart Hub.
Nicole was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and severe heart failure in 2023, and her personal experience informs her advocacy and support for other patients and carers.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE REP
PAUL POZZO
Paul is a former Chair of Amyloidosis UK and currently serves as a trustee. He was diagnosed with wild-type amyloidosis 11 years ago and has since been involved in raising awareness and supporting others affected by the condition.
Paul looks forward to contributing to the work of the Education Committee.
IAIN TRAYNER
RESEARCH COMMITTEE REP
Iain has lived with heart failure for 25 years, following a heart attack at the age of 26. He has had an implanted defibrillator since 2002, which has saved his life on several occasions.
Iain works in digital health and care and has spent the past decade focusing on improving the journey and user experience for both patients and healthcare professionals across the NHS.

JOY YOUNG
Joy is a retired college lecturer who spent much of her career working in adult education before becoming a training and development officer for St John Wales.
She was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation five years ago, which later developed into heart failure. After attending cardiac rehabilitation, Joy helped establish a self-support group called the Dicky Tickers. The group provides valuable social, mental, and moral support for people living with heart conditions.
