£30,000About the Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive and creative Education Officer to help deliver and grow our education programme.
This is a pivotal role within a small, ambitious team, working closely with clinical leaders and committees to deliver high-quality education for a diverse membership including nurses, consultants, resident doctors, pharmacists, scientists and allied health professionals.
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering BSH’s educational offer – from webinars and podcasts to in-person events and digital learning resources – as well as leading the development of our new online Knowledge Hub.
Key Responsibilities
Support the BSH Education Committee and deliver its programme of educational activity
Plan, coordinate and deliver webinars, podcasts, events and educational resources
Lead the development and management of the BSH Knowledge Hub, ensuring content is high-quality, relevant and up to date
Track engagement and usage data, including CPD activity
Support delivery of education sessions at external events and contribute to BSH events
Work collaboratively with other societies and organisations to enhance educational content and signposting
Support educational outputs across BSH committees, particularly the Nurse Forum and Research Forum
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience delivering education, events or digital content
Is highly organised, with strong project management skills
Is confident working with senior clinicians and stakeholders
Is digitally confident and comfortable managing online platforms
Takes initiative and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Is passionate about delivering high-quality education and improving healthcare

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join the Board of Trustees at the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH). This is a unique opportunity to shape national policy, strengthen fundraising and support a growing organisation working to improve outcomes for over 1 million people living with heart failure in the UK.
About Us
BSH is a national charity and professional membership organisation connecting clinicians and experts to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart failure. With a rapidly growing profile and a bold ambition through the 25in25 campaign, we are working to reduce mortality from heart failure and drive system‑wide change through research, education, awareness and policy influence.
The Opportunity
As Trustee (Policy & Fundraising), you will play a key strategic role on our Board, providing expert advice on:
Fundraising and income generation strategy
Policy development, lobbying and influencing
Commercial opportunities and organisational sustainability
You will also act as a Link Trustee to the CEO, supporting performance, governance oversight and organisational effectiveness, and chair the CEO Performance and Remuneration Panel.
Who We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
Senior leadership experience (charity, public, or commercial sectors)
Expertise in fundraising, policy, lobbying or commercial strategy
Strong governance, strategic thinking and decision‑making skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
A commitment to improving healthcare outcomes and driving impact
Time Commitment & Terms
Approximately 1–2 days per month
Board meets 4–5 times per year (mix of virtual and London‑based meetings)
Voluntary role (expenses reimbursed)
3‑year term, with potential for reappointment
