Geraint Jenkins

Geraint is a Consultant Cardiologist and Lead for Heart Failure at the tertiary centre in Swansea. He leads the South Wales Pulmonary Hypertension service in collaboration with the Hammersmith team. In 2024, he founded the Welsh Heart Failure Society (WHFS) and currently serves as its first President. Geraint co-chairs the NHS Wales Heart Failure Expert Reference Group and has previously served as All Wales Training Programme Director, STC Chair, and Cardiology SAC member for Wales.

In 2025, alongside his nursing and pharmacy colleagues, Geraint developed an MSc course in Heart Failure at Swansea University, supported by the WHFS. A BSH member since 2003, he strongly supports our mission and values, with Swansea serving as the first 25in25 pilot site. He bring strategic leadership, clinical insight, and a collaborative, inclusive perspective to help guide the Society’s governance and direction.
